Artist Statement
The work investigates the transformation of matter into perceptual space through light, shadow, and reduction.
Wood is the starting point of the research, not its subject. Through burning, subtraction, and time, its material identity is gradually dissolved, revealing new relationships between surface, depth, and emptiness. Each work functions as a perceptual device. Light does not simply illuminate form; it generates it. Shadow is not a byproduct but an active presence that continuously reshapes spatial perception. Over time, the research has moved away from any descriptive or narrative dimension toward an essential language in which rhythm, measure, and transformation define the core of the work. The different series developed since 2008 form a single continuous investigation: how matter, through transformation, can become experience, time, and space.
